Fiberglass frame construction
Substantially stronger than vinyl, built to resist coastal wind and moisture exposure over time.
Pella window option
Pella Impervia Series: fiberglass strength for coastal exposure.
For oceanfront and sound-front properties facing intense wind, sun and salt exposure, the fiberglass-framed Impervia Series is available as an upgrade option through Refresh OBX, a Pella Certified Reseller. Pella windows come through the Pella showroom in Kill Devil Hills, installed by Pella.
What sets it apart
Built for the toughest OBX exposure.
Impervia's fiberglass frame is designed to hold up where standard vinyl windows are pushed hardest: direct oceanfront exposure, sustained wind and constant salt air.
It isn't the right fit for every home, which is why we treat it as an upgrade option rather than our default recommendation.
Minimal expansion and contraction
Fiberglass moves less than vinyl across temperature swings, which helps protect seals over the long run.
Low-maintenance finish
Resists rotting, pitting and corrosion from prolonged salt-air exposure.
Built for extreme conditions
A common choice for homes directly exposed to ocean wind and spray.
