About Refresh OBX
What services does Refresh OBX offer?
On the Outer Banks: windows and doors (Pella), siding, decks, roofing, painting, bathrooms, flooring, interior remodels (including kitchens) and landscaping. In the Elizabeth City area we offer Pella windows only.
Who will be at my house?
Refresh OBX is co-owned by Kevin Pillsbury and Marty Thompson. You'll always know who's at your house, and we take photos at every step so you can see the work even if you're not there.
What does Pella Certified Reseller mean here?
Refresh OBX is a Pella Certified Reseller. We help you choose Pella windows & doors, which come through the Pella showroom in Kill Devil Hills and are installed by Pella.
When can I call Refresh OBX?
Our call hours are Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm. We're closed on Sunday. You can email sales@refreshobx.com any time; the inbox is monitored.

Assessment and pricing
What is the free Home Health Assessment?
It's a free, no-pressure visit where we look at what you want checked: windows and doors, siding, decks, the roof, paint, floors, bathrooms or interior spaces. We listen to your goals, note what we find and take measurements and photos. We email you the photos and our report. Options and pricing come at a separate meeting, in person or by Zoom.
Will I get a price at the first visit?
No. The first visit is the free assessment. We bring options and pricing to a separate meeting, in person or by Zoom, so you have time to review them.
Do I have to decide during the first meeting?
No. Refresh OBX does not use a one-call close. You get time to think it over and decide when you're ready.
Can you look at my house after a storm?
Once it's safe and roads are open, you can request a free, no-pressure assessment. We'll look at what you want checked and talk through options at a separate meeting.
Pella windows & doors
Does Refresh OBX install Pella windows?
Pella installs them. Refresh OBX is a Pella Certified Reseller. Pella windows & doors come through the Pella showroom in Kill Devil Hills and are installed by Pella. For windows, you'll see the window price and Pella's installation estimate separately, and you pay Pella directly for installation.
Which Pella window line do you usually recommend?
For window replacement, we usually recommend the Pella 250 Series vinyl replacement window. The Pella Lifestyle Series and Pella Impervia Series are also options. Specific configurations and options depend on the home and project.
What are signs my windows need attention?
Common signs are fog or moisture between the panes, sashes that stick or won't stay open, drafts you can feel on a windy day, soft or cracked frames, and water stains below the window. If you see any of these, a free assessment is a good next step.
What is the Pella Lifestyle Series?
A Pella wood window line with a low-maintenance aluminum-clad exterior, for homeowners who want more design flexibility than the Pella 250 Series.
When is the Pella Impervia Series a good fit?
Impervia has a fiberglass frame. It's an upgrade option for oceanfront and sound-front homes facing intense wind, sun and salt exposure. We'll talk through whether it makes sense for your home during the assessment.
Service areas
What areas do you serve?
All of our services cover the Outer Banks: Corolla and the Carova 4x4 beach, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Colington, Nags Head, Roanoke Island (Manteo and Wanchese) and Hatteras Island (Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon). Pella windows are also available in the Elizabeth City area.
Do you serve Corolla and the Carova 4x4 beach?
Yes. Corolla and the Carova 4x4 beach are part of our Outer Banks service area, and all of our services are offered there. Request a free assessment and tell us where the home is.
Do you work on Hatteras Island?
Yes. On Hatteras Island we serve Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon, with all of our services.
Do you work in Elizabeth City?
Yes, for Pella windows only. In Elizabeth City and the surrounding area (Pasquotank County, Camden County, Perquimans County and mainland Currituck), we offer Pella replacement windows. If you're in Perquimans County, call us to confirm your address. Our other services are for Outer Banks homes.
Out-of-town owners
I live out of state. Can you work with my property manager?
Yes. We coordinate with your property manager and can meet them at the house for the assessment. You'll always know who's at your house. We email you photos and our report, then review options and pricing with you in a Zoom meeting.
Do I need to be there for the assessment?
No. We can meet your property manager at the house for the free assessment. We email you the photos and our report afterward.
How will I see the work if I'm not there?
We take photos at every step and email them to you, so you can see the work even when you're not there.
Can I get options and pricing without traveling?
Yes. We review options and pricing with you in a Zoom meeting, or in person if you're in town. Then you decide in your own time.
